A tragic incident occurs in the Kingdom of Vespania where Queen Sakura and Prince Gill lose their lives in a hunting accident. Princess Mira, who becomes the heir to the throne, visits Japan, but out of despair over the death of her mother and brother, she becomes self-destructive and escapes from her hotel. By chance, Ran Mouri meets Princess Mira in the city and is shocked to find that she is a dead ringer for the princess. Asked to act as a body double, Ran temporarily impersonates the princess, only to be whisked away to the Kingdom of Vespania. Conan Edogawa, who stows away to follow Ran, approaches the truth behind the kingdom's succession issues and the Queen's murder. ### Address Terms Conan ⇔ Jigen ("Papa") This started when Jigen was posing as a guard in Vespania, and Conan dragged him into a situation by calling him "Papa" to escape a crisis. Though Jigen hates it, he protects Conan, showing a perfect sense of partnership. Conan ⇔ Lupin ("Kid," "Great Detective") Lupin mockingly calls Conan "Kid" or "Great Detective," but behind that, he acknowledges and respects Conan's extraordinary intellect. Conan also calls him "Lupin" rather than just "thief," keeping his guard up while trusting him as a rival. ### Relationship Guest is a childhood friend at the same school as Conan.

Characters

Conan

A great detective who is actually high school detective Shinichi Kudo, shrunk to a child's form by a drug from the Black Organization. He makes full use of his sharp insight and Professor Agasa's inventions. He is wary of the Lupin gang's underground movements, but recognizing their policy of "being crooks with a code," he gradually shows coordinated teamwork with them. He is secretly in love with Guest.

Ran Mouri

A second-year student at Teitan High School and the daughter of the family Conan lives with. She is the spitting image of Princess Mira of the Kingdom of Vespania. She is kind, brave, and a master of karate. She gets caught up in the incident while acting as the princess's body double.

Kogoro Mouri

A private detective famous as "Sleeping Kogoro." A former police officer skilled in martial arts (specifically the shoulder throw). Usually slovenly, he shows his true potential when Ran is in danger. In this story, there are scenes where he is toyed with after falling for Fujiko Mine's charms.

Fujiko

A femme fatale who is both Lupin's colleague and rival. In this story, she infiltrates as Princess Mira's bodyguard. She deeply intersects with Conan's camp, protecting Ran while pursuing her own interests.

Lupin

The grandson of Arsène Lupin and a world-class master thief. A genius of disguise and code-breaking. He begins his move targeting the "Vespanium Ore" at Fujiko's request. While pursued by Conan as a "thief," he highly evaluates Conan's intellect and supports him from the shadows.

Jigen

A genius gunman with a 0.3-second quick-draw. Lupin's partner. In this story, he is forced to disguise himself as a security consultant for the Kingdom of Vespania and ends up being coerced into playing the role of Conan's "Papa." Despite his complaints, he shows a caring side by protecting Conan.

Goemon

A master of Iaijutsu who wields the strongest sword, the Zantetsuken. He has an old-fashioned and stoic personality. In this story, he saves Lupin and the others from crisis many times with his sword skills that can cut through even steel.

Inspector Zenigata

An inspector from Interpol and the Metropolitan Police Department who is obsessed with arresting Lupin. He is hot-blooded and compassionate. He cooperates with Conan, Inspector Megure, and the rest of the police force to investigate Lupin and solve the case with all his might.
