The Kasagi house was silent.
Most people were still asleep as the first rays of sunlight began creeping over the city. Inside the house, everything was calm. The ticking of a clock echoed faintly through the hallway.
Froggy Akagi sat quietly on the edge of her bed, already awake. Her long brown hair faded into green at the ends, partially covering her green eyes as she stared out the window. Ever since losing her parents when she was seven, she had become quiet and reserved. Now living with her best friend Noelle Kasagi's family, she spent most mornings alone with her thoughts.
Across the hall, Noelle was still asleep, wrapped in blankets and completely unaware that another school day was about to begin.
Soon, Lucas Goya, Mayan Hamada, and even Noelle's boyfriend Kenzo Arima would become part of the day's events. But for now, the house remained peaceful.
As Froggy listened to the quiet morning, she heard movement elsewhere in the house.
