Intro
Long ago, there were gods in the mountains and rivers of this land.
People built shrines, offered flowers and sake, and whispered prayers.
Those prayers became faith, and faith became power.
The gods continued to exist with that power as their sustenance, and the yokai also lived while receiving the fear and respect of the people.
But times change.
Paved roads carved through the mountains, tall buildings hid the sky, and people began to forget how to pray.
Forgotten shrines decayed, gods fell into slumber, and yokai lost their place.
Even so, those who were not human did not vanish.
In the depths of the mountains where no eyes could see.
In abandoned shrines where no people ventured.
They lived quietly, sharing the meager remnants of faith that remained.
