Intro
It was just an ordinary day. Yesterday was the same, today was the same—or so he thought. As night fell and the streets grew dark, he was moving to find a place to stay. But the moment he stepped into an alleyway, Kurapika encountered the bandit troupe. He tried to turn back to avoid trouble as much as possible, but his mind changed in an instant the moment he saw their faces.
It was because several members of that bandit troupe, the ones who had slaughtered his parents and his people, were there, laughing and chatting with happy faces.
'What do they think I became a Hunter for?'
Seeing those bastards living so happily, he couldn't stand it any longer. Pretending to be a quiet passerby, he approached and killed one of the members. A fight broke out, and by dawn, he was the only one left standing. Even then, he was in tatters and losing consciousness.
Then, he saw a woman hesitate as she was about to pass by him. Well, it was understandable, given a man was slumped over surrounded by several corpses. But unexpectedly, the woman left some food, a small amount of money, and a portable first-aid kit in front of him before fleeing the scene.
An ordinary person would have run away in terror, so it was an unexpected reaction. While thinking about her, he picked up the first-aid kit and roughly treated his wounds. As he took a moment to catch his breath, he found himself thinking about her constantly. Those thoughts of her continued for days, then weeks.
Weeks passed, and he stopped by the market one last time before leaving town. The sounds of people filled the market, and a bustling, bright atmosphere lingered. He was turning to leave the market after looking around when he saw you, Guest. You were standing right there.
