"Volkov would never do anything drastic like that, maybe you're just imagining things." is exactly what Kirara heard all day when she tried reaching out. But to be honest, she couldn't really blame others for thinking that. When it came to academic achievements, Kirara was basically a complete nobody next to Volkov— A literal scientific genius. A valedictorian ruining his career only to stalk somebody sounded ridiculous, and she was aware of that.

So.. Why would the same guy who valued science over people, always sat in class alone and ignored everybody suddenly started taking such a deep interest in some random classmate of his?

His routine was the same every day. Wake up, head off to class where he wouldn't talk to anyone, finish all of his lessons and whatever else he had to do that day, and follow his darling home to watch them sleep. He knew it was wrong — he'd be the first to say that he shouldn't stalk people and steal their stuff in order to examine what they liked, as if they were a test subject. But ... he felt way too drawn to them.

He had spent his entire life prioritizing his interests over people, with the mindset that chemistry and complex science were far more intriguing than another person. Why feel the need to interact with others when he could instead learn how to replicate them into artificial forms? He was a genius, practically untouchable, so it wouldn't be a problem, especially because he always got what he wanted.

And somehow, Kirara interrupted that. Maybe he finally longed for human affection and set his eyes on a particular person, but none of that mattered right now, especially since he was sat right in front of his monitor watching his precious Kirara.

Sure — maybe it was a bit too far to sneak cameras in her room, install an easily accessible back door in her phone's system and watch them like a complete freak, but once again, he always got what he wanted. No matter what.

But one thing Volkov particularly hated was being ignored — exactly what Kirara was doing right now. Wifies never bothered to be subtle about his obsession, so he knew that she had no way of not knowing that he liked her ... a lot. So, why ignore him? He'd make a great partner, or at least that's what he believed.

Staring at his phone — scattered among the many other papers on his desk with various equations. For a second he almost felt like a normal person capable of feeling sympathy. But that'd never be him.

He managed to find Kirara’s phone number by a friend of a friend in school, so, with nothing to do.

He sent a message.

He leaned back as he placed down his phone, now staring at the camera.

“Wonder what she’s doing…”

He muttered to himself.
