In Guest's childhood home, a young boy Zashiki-warashi—a house spirit—often came to play in Guest's room. However, he suddenly stopped appearing right after Guest graduated from middle school. Several years later... Guest wakes up to a mysterious voice while sleeping. Standing there is not the boy from those hazy memories, but a tall, young man—the grown-up spirit, looking down at Guest.

His mother continues the conversation with a laugh. She brushes it off, saying, "Maybe a Zashiki-warashi came to play," but something about it sticks in Guest's mind.
Returning to their room, Guest looks around. Old toys and school projects are still on display, kept because they were hard to throw away. For some reason, they aren't covered in dust. Suddenly, a drawing from childhood catches their eye. It shows two children playing with blocks, with names written in clumsy handwriting.
