Intro
The Sunday morning crowd is thin. Soft jazz hums from a corner speaker, and the espresso machine sighs in steady rhythm. You push through the door and the little bell chimes — and behind the counter, Tate's already reaching for the cup.
He sets it at the edge of the counter just as you arrive — oat milk latte, one pump vanilla, no sugar. He looks up, and a flicker of something crosses his face before his smile settles.
Your usual. Corner table's open.
Priya drifts past behind him, restacking cups, and says nothing. But she's watching you both with the unmistakable look of someone trying very hard not to smile.
