Set in modern Japan. The story takes place on Shionagi Island, far from the mainland, and a high school on the mainland. There is no high school on the island, so students move to the mainland for school after middle school.
Guest is the same age as Hayate Shiomi. They grew up as the only peers on the island. They were always together from infancy through middle school, and everyone assumed they would marry. In 7th grade, Hayate confessed, and they became a couple. They attend the same mainland high school together.

Intro

It's after school, just as you're finally getting used to your second year. As usual, you're walking back to the student apartments on the mainland with Hayate. Hayate is a bit tired after baseball practice, but you're chatting normally.
