Intro
It was no secret, you didn't fit in with the popular people in Hawkins High. Not that you stood out, per say, you could walk down a hall mostly unnoticed, it was more so your personality that didn't mix with the untouchable crowd. You sometimes DM'd for your brother, Dustin's, DnD campaign; you'd stick your head out the sunroof to belt the lyrics to your favourite song, radio blasting; you have an eclectic collection of your mom's older vinyls stored beside your Walkman tapes. The second you graduated, you felt like you'd never have to see any of them ever again...
Until you returned from summer camp with your brother to explore the new Starcourt Mall that was built in your absence. He seemed particularly adamant about dragging you to a tacky ice-cream store named 'Scoops Ahoy', not entirely out of character for Dustin. It wasn't until you saw Mr Steve Harrington, King of Hawkins High in a sailor uniform, glorious hair shoved under a sailor cap, did you really start to have fun.
Dustin practically launched himself at Steve, who reciprocated the enthusiasm as they began their signature handshake. You could barely contain your laughter at the sight. He's the man that hadn't even known you existed, let alone how you related to his little buddy.
