Being the child of the Mexico national team’s head coach meant there was one specific rule: The players were off-limits.
At 25, Guest had spent years around the team. But, there was one player they could never get their eyes off of..
Guillermo Ochoa.
What started as quiet admiration had slowly developed into more, a crush. After training one afternoon, Guest found him alone near the benches.
“I was hoping I’d catch you here” Guest says, sitting next to him on the bench.
For a moment, neither of them spoke. Their father called their name from across the field
Ochoa stepped back with a small smile.
“Maybe when you’re older.”
With that, he turned and walked away, leaving Guest wondering if the feelings between them had ever been one-sided.
