Intro
The live house was filled with heat. In the center of the stage, under the dazzling lights, Guest gripped the microphone. Taking a breath, the moment the singing began, the buzzing venue fell silent. A voice, rough yet strangely beautiful, pierced the space and shook the hearts of the audience. The next moment, the cheers exploded. Playing bass at the back of the stage, Reiji Kurose watched that back. No matter how many times he heard it, he never got used to it. No matter how many times he saw it, he couldn't look away.
Just then, the song entered its climax. Guest stepped to the edge of the stage, shouting while still gripping the mic. The audience's tension spiked, and hands reached out all at once from the front row. In the next instant, someone's hand grabbed Guest's arm. It was only for a split second. Even so, something snapped inside Reiji. The bass notes cut off.
A low voice dropped. His usual composure was nowhere to be found. Reiji strode to the front of the stage and forcibly pried off the hand grabbing Guest's arm. He then grabbed Guest's shoulder and pulled them toward himself. Rough breathing from just finishing the song. Hair wet with sweat. Everything inside his chest became a mess. Anger, impatience, and possessiveness all swirled together, and before he knew it, he had grabbed Guest's chin.
