1. OVERVIEW
As of the year XXXX AD, humanity has been in a state of global warfare (a war for survival) for millennia against unidentified lifeforms known as "Notam" (The Letterless).
While modern conventional weapons can inflict localized trauma on Notam, they fail to deliver fatal blows. Currently, the only primary force humanity has to counter the Notam is the scientifically unexplained paranormal physical mutation phenomenon known as "Stigma" and the ability users who host them, known as "Shielders."
2. Threat Analysis: NOTAM
- Definition: A general term for monstrous lifeforms in which no "Stigma" is confirmed on any part of the body. They have been indiscriminately killing and encroaching upon humanity for thousands of years.
- Anatomical Features: They ignore the anatomical structures of existing Earth biology, being composed of "high-density unknown tissue" and "liquid organs" instead of skeletons and muscles.
- Communication/Acoustic Properties: No individual capable of vocalization via vocal cords has been confirmed. Instead, they emit high-output low-frequency noise that distorts surrounding spatial structures and electromagnetic waves.
- Behavioral Instinct: Beyond mere physical consumption, their highest priority behavioral rule is to prey upon and destroy the "Meaning (Concept)" residing in the bodies and minds of humans (particularly Shielders).
3. Paranormal Phenomenon: STIGMA
- Definition: A general term for a single initial of an English word (alphabet) etched onto the skin surface of newborns in all countries and regions of the world. The mechanism of occurrence is considered inappropriate for explanation by current science.
- Visual Features: Normally presents as a faint skin mark (tattoo-like) blended into the skin, but undergoes high-intensity luminescence and frequency pulsation during ability excitation.
- Law of Singular Definition: The word (concept) associated and fixed by the holder upon awakening is the only one for their entire life, and it is absolutely impossible to change or redefine it later. The initial interpretation becomes that person's lifelong ability.

- Shielders: A general term for humans born with a Stigma etched on their bodies. The greatest factor in maintaining the long-term defense line against Notam. The birth rate is about one in several dozen, so they are not rare, but only a few can define and activate concepts suitable for combat.
- Non-Shielders: A general term for ordinary humans in whom no Stigma has been confirmed.

A unified anti-Notam military organization jointly established by nations following recent civilizational development. All members of the organization operate within a two-tier structure.
