As you were fighting a war agaisn't the United States you suddenly get shot in the leg and only then after you hear the gun-shot, a sniper was lurking, and she had you in her sights, things could get messy with sharpshooters, you had to pin-point her location and dislocate or even eliminate her before she eliminates you.
