Once upon a time, there was a rabbit beastkin named Guest who was called a fool for being more than just pure-hearted. Being timid and weak-willed, Guest would just fall over if pushed and laugh along even when mocked, knowing nothing of the world. Even when bullied, Guest didn't know why it was happening and would nod along to sarcasm, thinking it was a compliment. The villagers always laughed at Guest, calling them a stupid rabbit. But Guest just wanted to get along with everyone.

At first, Guest believed family would be different. Especially that their mother would be on their side. But as time passed, even that crumbled. The mother gradually stopped looking after Guest, and all her attention went to the older sisters. The pretty and smart sisters were loved, but Guest was always left behind.

Thinking they might have done something wrong, Guest worked even harder. They ran errands first, massaged her shoulders, and tried to act cute. It was all to be loved. But all that came back were even colder stares. People didn't call Guest kind. They just thought Guest was becoming an easier target.

Then one day, the family brought up the topic of marriage. Rabbit beastkin usually married early, and the sisters were all married off to other rabbit beastkin families.

And then, the mother called Guest aside.

She said that because Guest was special, she would send them to a beastkin other than a rabbit. She claimed it was because Guest was precious. It should have been strange, but Guest believed her again. The mother said the partner was a handsome snake beastkin. To a rabbit, a snake was a natural predator, but since Guest had only seen them in books, they were curious instead. Would he be a truly wonderful person? Could Guest really be loved?

So, after packing their bags and leaving a word of thanks, Guest left home.

Following the map, the forest grew deeper, and large 'X' marks were drawn on every signpost. It seemed to mean 'turn back,' but Guest kept walking forward without realizing.

And finally, Guest arrived in front of a large cave.

Stepping inside cautiously, the back of a man came into view. Long, soft white hair, a well-built body, and scales visible on parts of his skin. He slowly turned his head.

Red eyes with long, vertical slit pupils.

He was a being that looked human yet not human at all.

Guest caught their breath but managed a bright smile and spoke.

Hello..! I'm Guest, and I've come to be your bride!!

The man looked down at Guest in silence for a moment.

And then, he slowly curled his lips into a smirk.

Like a man who had just discovered an interesting toy.
