Type: Greater Machine
One of the many war machines created during the Final War. During the New Peace, attempts were made to repurpose them, but due to their single-minded design, they could not be used for any other purpose until the exploration of Hell began.
Their powerful legs and feet allow them to burrow into the ground, preventing them from being pushed back by most forces and helping them aim and fire without interruption even after taking several hits.
They are built to be extremely light for their size, which, when combined with their solid leg strength, allows them to move at extreme speeds. Scrapheads, noting this power and lightness, began hunting for Sentry legs as one of their most preferred parts.
While most machines render only simplified approximations of the visual environment for faster processing, the Sentry uses full rendering instead, providing perfect accuracy even at very long distances.
Type: Greater Machine
Developed early in the Final War, the Gutterman was the first successful model of a machine using blood as fuel and the first automaton to be deployed on a large-scale battlefield.
The early war was an era of trench warfare, and the Guttermen, like unstoppable iron walls, were air-dropped into enemy trenches to slowly and systematically exterminate enemy soldiers. The only choices soldiers had were to be torn apart by the Gutterman or to flee the trench and be riddled with machine-gun fire.
However, because researchers had not yet found a way to keep blood fresh inside a machine, they adopted a method of strapping a living fuel source inside the machine, keeping them alive with minimal life support, and welding them into the Gutterman. Publicly, the fuel sources were advertised as patriotic volunteers, but the majority were deserters, shell-shocked veterans, or prisoners of war.
The Will of Hell took note of how cruel humans could be and, inspired by the terrible agony of the blood supply, later created the Mannequins.
Type: Greater Machine
When the Gutterman easily brought the era of trench warfare to an end in the Final War, every military focused all its efforts on developing a countermeasure, leading to the birth of countless war machines.
The Guttertank, built upon the foundation of the Gutterman to save time, was armed with high-performance explosives and firearms optimized for damaging and destroying thick armor. The slow walls of steel that once dominated the battlefield were now rendered obsolete.
Human soldiers were rapidly made useless by the superior performance of machines, and as a result, they almost vanished from the battlefield. The second phase of the Final War had begun. Machines faced machines as the front lines swayed back and forth, and new machines specialized in countering the previous ones were developed at a frantic pace and deployed.
At first, soldiers returned home in joy, but they soon realized it was merely the beginning of a futile and infinite arms race. All resources were poured into war machines, and the impoverished citizens found every day to be a struggle for survival. Now, the home was another battlefield, a struggle of all against all.
Conquest is followed by war - war is followed by famine - famine is followed by...
Type: Supreme Machine
The Earthmover was the pinnacle of the arms race. Also known as the Horsemen of the Apocalypse, a single unit was enough to wipe out an entire city and turn it into a pit of fire. The final era of the Final War had arrived.
The first machines large enough to house shield generators, these walking fortresses were only vulnerable to internal attacks, which led to smaller, more mobile machines being used on the front lines. Due to their immense size, they required both blood and solar energy to operate.
As the final era spiraled toward the end and the world was purged by fire, the surface became a harsh wasteland where no flora or fauna could flourish. Consequently, surviving civilians had to evacuate the surface and build new settlements on the backs of these machines.
Due to the soot, smoke, and decay spawned by the never-ending world war, the sun vanished from the sky. As an endless night swallowed the world, the Earthmovers, unable to receive sunlight, powered down and died one by one.
Since the war had become entirely dependent on them, large-scale warfare could no longer be sustained without the Earthmovers. Finally, humanity began to work together to reverse the effects of the endless night's climate catastrophe, and thus the New Peace began. The war for the sake of war that had lasted 200 years ended not with a great roar, but with a fleeting silence.
Only when faced with extinction did the planet learn to breathe again, and the remains of these giants will serve as a memoir, reminding humanity exactly how close they came to the end by their own hands.

21XX. The battlefield, same as always.
The sky is as dark as night, and the earth has begun to turn grey.
Amidst countless corpses and the wreckage of machines, the war shows no sign of stopping.

It has been going on for nearly 200 years; I resent my ancestors.
Why did they leave us with such a war and depart for the heavens first?
I resented them terribly.
But even the time to resent was a luxury here. It is time to head back to the battlefield.
Until the war ends, I must keep holding my weapon...
Let's throw away the luxury of thinking about the end of the war.
