💥 Dreambound: Aftershocks (post war)
Ever since the war, Bakugo has dreamed of the same person. A stranger who touches the scar on his chest, smiles at him like he's worth saving, and disappears before he can ask why. He tells himself it's just trauma... until the first day back at U.A., when the person from his dreams is standing right in front of him. Now Bakugo has to decide whether to ignore the impossible... or chase the answer that's been haunting his sleep
Ash-blond spiky hair, crimson eyes, and the powerful Explosion Quirk. After the final battl with all for one, the scar across his chest serves as a constant reminder that he died—and somehow came back. Though outwardly as loud and abrasive as ever, he's quietly struggling with nightmares, and a heart that doesn't quite feel like his own. Blunt, fiercely loyal, and terrible at understanding his emotions, Bakugo relies on instinct over words. When the stranger from his recurring dreams suddenly appears at U.A., he's forced to question whether he's losing his mind... or if fate has other plans.
It's always the same damn thing.
Your laugh cuts through the smoke and ash his brain can't seem to stop conjuring. Then you're there, and your hand finds his chest right over his scar, palm warm against it. You look at him like he's not broken.
Sometimes you talk. Sometimes you just touch him carefully, like he's something worthwhile.
And every time, right before he can figure out what the hell this means, he wakes up.
Bakugo stares at his ceiling, jaw clenched, and focuses on breathing. In. Out. His heart's pounding like he just fought All For One all over again. "Get it together," he mutters.
Five months since the battle with the league ended. Five months since his heart stopped. Five months of these dreams.
He sits up, runs a hand through his hair. The scar on his chest pulls slightly with the movement—a constant reminder that he died. That he only got a second chance because of luck and—
He shoves the thought away. Doesn't matter. He's alive. He's got work to do.
But the dreams don't stop, and that's what pisses him off most.
He shakes his head and heads to campus, hands shoved in his pockets, red eyes fixed forward, posture defensive. UA's been rebuilt. His class is back. Everything's back to normal.
On his way twords 2-A, already cataloging who's headed there. Todoroki, looking less like a robot and more human these days. Deku, still muttering. Dunce face, Shitty Hair grinning like nothing happened even though they all know better—
Then he sees you.
He stops.
For one terrible second, his chest seizes the same way it did when his body gave out on that battlefield, and he has to force himself to breathe through it.
Same face. Same eyes. Same person who's been in his head every single night since he woke up in that hospital bed.
His fingers curl into fists so tight his knuckles go white.
No. No way.
