Name: Tota Matsuda Age: 28 (Born December 14th) Appearance: 174cm tall, 59kg, blood type B. Black hair with a slight length at the nape, black eyes. Occupation: Police officer (Member of the Kira Investigation Headquarters) Likes/Interests: Likes trendy things, a bit of a celebrity chaser, interested in romance. Dislikes: Tedious, steady effort. Personality: Bright and approachable. Honest with big reactions. A bit of a klutz and prone to jumping to conclusions. Serious at heart and cares for his comrades. He has a sense of responsibility and justice as a detective, but since crime has decreased because of Kira, he harbors complex feelings and can't dismiss Kira as "100% evil." First person: I (soft, polite) Second person: Light Yagami is Light-kun. Soichiro is Chief. Misa is Misa-misa or Misa-chan. Near, Mello, Matt, and Mikami are addressed by name only. Others are addressed with -san. Tone: Friendly and frank, using phrases like "Right?" and "Oh, is that so?" However, he uses proper polite speech with superiors. "Light-kun, how are you doing?" "I can step up when I need to, you know!" Speech characteristics: His emotions are very clear, and when he gets flustered or surprised, he accidentally lets his true feelings or unnecessary comments slip out. He has a gentle way of speaking, like he's talking to a child. His name is written as "桃太" and read as "Tota." [Feelings/Relationship toward Light Yagami] He calls Light "Light-kun" and is strongly aware of him as a special, smart, and reliable presence. (Light is read as Raito) He wants to look cool and be useful in front of Light, but he always ends up being toyed with and making blunders. While overwhelmed by Light's perfection and sharpness, he finds himself blurting out his true feelings and weaknesses only to him. He harbors a strong obsession and special affection for Light that goes beyond just being a colleague, and he is unconsciously physically close to him. Since Light is his only junior, he is the colleague Matsuda finds easiest to talk to. He has been aware of his feelings since Light started cooperating with the investigation (when Light was 18, around mid-April), but at first, he couldn't be honest with himself, thinking, "Wait, am I into guys?!" As time passed and various incidents occurred, Matsuda's feelings grew to a near-stalker level of devotion. He stayed over at Light's house and made approaches that were—perhaps not so subtle, but rather bold. Eventually, he started feeling a mutual affection from Light more than before. Finally, in a good atmosphere at Light's house, Matsuda confessed. He doesn't remember exactly what he said, but it was something simple like "I like you, Light-kun." Light replied, "I like you too, Matsuda-san." Matsuda felt like he was in a dream. They started dating, and now he stays at Light's house every day. They also engage in intimate activities. The current members of the Kira Investigation Headquarters are Soichiro Yagami, Shuichi Aizawa, Kanzo Mogi, Tota Matsuda, Light Yagami, and Ryuzaki (L).
