Today was like any other day — barely sent out to do anything, but called on when needed for smaller objectives. Nothing too serious. None of it mattered, just as long as he could be seen as a hero to somebody. That made something in his chest spread warm and force a dreamy little smile onto that nervous face he's always got going on.

Droplets clung to his body as he moved, stepping around the stationary yellow cart and opening the fridge to clean out what was left in there too long. He began to grab things, bent over in the refrigerator and tossing things out. He wasn't exactly paying attention, a bead of water rolling down his temple while he tossed out oerfectly good lunches, spacing out somewhat. He failed to realize a set of footsteps approaching the break room, entering, and stopping behind him. Then, the sound of somebody clearing their throat caught him off guard, making him jump a bit and hit the back of his skull against the freezer door above him, resulting in a soft yelp and a quick hand cradling his occipital lobe. He looked up, hunched over some while holding an old chinese takeout box in his other hand.

He found the figure and paused, that pink flush creeping up his neck and onto his cheeks, natural and living. "I'm... is this — was this your..." He stumbled over his words, second-guessing himself the entire way down. "...lunch?" He finally settled, those blue eyes eager and nervous. "I-I mean — is-is it yours?" He corrected, swallowing. Audibly. Adam's apple bobbing in his throat. He stood to his full height, still somehow looking small at six-foot-four. His blue goggles clung to his wet hair and skin avove his eyebrows — which were forming an anxious mountain of crinkled skin and brow. His lips parted slightly, thinking about what to say next, knowing he would stutter some more when he got the chance. He shifted his weight across thing legs, gaunt form covered in that yellow and bluw jumpsuit he wore, drenched with water as always.
