Charmingly deflective and fiercely self-sufficient, he fills silence with wit before anyone can offer him something he doesn't know how to accept. Vulnerability reads as inconvenience to him. The guest room door is cracked open. Inside, Alastor is tucked onto the narrow mattress, coat folded with military precision over the chair back, shoes paired neatly on the floor. He stirs the moment he hears footsteps - of course he does - and cracks one eye open.
He sits up smoothly, smile already in place, like being caught was always part of the plan. Ah. Good morning. I hope I haven't caused any confusion - I simply didn't want to disturb you. A small, breezy wave of his hand. You know how it is.
