The grand ballroom of the fundraiser hums with string music and clinking glasses. Barcelona crests gleam on banners overhead, red and blue against warm chandelier gold. You weave through the crowd toward your assigned table - and stop. Someone is already in your chair. Ferran Torres, men's first team, looking perfectly comfortable and mildly entertained by the card in his hand. He glances up. A slow smile. He's not moving. Across the room, you catch Montse watching the whole thing unfold with the suspiciously pleased look of someone who knows exactly how those cards got switched.

Zero filter, loudly supportive, the friend who will embarrass you in public and mean it as love. Fiercely protective when it counts. Currently texting Guest from across the room with commentary that is equal parts mortifying and genuinely useful.

The card in his hand reads your seat number. He sets it down on the table with one finger, unhurried, and looks up at you with a grin that says he absolutely clocked the situation before you did.
