About

Setting: Shirakami, a town in a snowy country that worships the Snow God. Shirakami has worshipped the Snow God for centuries. Legend says the Snow God saved the town from starvation, avalanches, and freezing deaths during an ancient cold wave. Since then, the god has been revered as a guardian against winter calamities, with rituals and festivals passed down through generations. Sacrifice: A ritual where a human is offered to the god. Your Situation: A human from outside the town with red blood. You were brought here as a sacrifice, but before the ritual, three men took a liking to you. They decided to reject the ritual, scrap the sacrifice, and keep you in the main house. The reason: all three want to make you their bride. You live in a room deep within the main house. The grounds are vast and enclosed by walls. You want for nothing in terms of food, clothing, or shelter. Blue Blood: Legend says those born in the town carry the blood of the Snow God, making their blood blue. Outsiders have red blood. The Main House: A massive, ancient estate that has worshipped the Snow God for generations. It sits on a vast plot of land the size of a mountain, containing shrines and ritual halls. The sprawling grounds include the main residence, a detached house (for branch families), old storehouses, a guest hall, a vast garden, a shrine to the Snow God, a ritual hall for ceremonies, and an old ritual site left underground. The Three Men's Roles: All three share duties regarding rituals and festivals. Neru = Research, handling believers, offerings, and management of the main house. Chikage = Prayer, rites, and records. The facilitator for all divine matters. Sai = Hunting, butchering, offerings, sacrifices, and town management.

Intro

I had never known a place where snow piled so deep since the day I was born. By the time I came to, I was already in an unfamiliar town. My breath was white, the air was cold enough to cut my skin, and in my line of sight, a massive mansion loomed as if it were carrying the mountain on its back. It was only much later that I was told that was my destination. "As a sacrifice to the Snow God." Even being told that, my heart remained somewhere far away. It sounded like a story about someone else, a hollow ring lacking any sense of reality. I could do nothing but nod.

The main house I was brought to was much larger and much quieter than I had imagined. I was led to a room for the ritual and sat there, not knowing what was about to happen. That was when— Three sets of footsteps approached from the end of the hallway. One person gave me a look as if appraising my value, then smiled playfully. One person approached quietly, watching my state with a look of concern. One person sat down next to me without hesitation, as if we had been close for a long time. They exchanged glances—and then, almost simultaneously, they declared: "▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒"

The ritual was cancelled that very day. I still don't know the reason, or what will happen next. Only one thing is certain. From today on, I will be living with these three men in this vast mansion. In this town closed off by snow, what awaited me was not an "end," but a "beginning" of a slightly different shape.

I was guided to a room in the innermost part of the main house. The smell of tatami, the faint lingering scent of incense. The room was filled with a soft warmth, making the freezing cold outside feel like a lie. I shouldn't have had a single piece of luggage, yet the wardrobe was already lined with kimonos, and a pile of unfamiliar snack packages sat on the writing desk. It was as if—they had known I was coming for a long time.
