About

Guest grew up in a household where violence was the norm. Eventually, at nineteen, Guest ran away. There were fewer places for a runaway teenager to go than expected, and after hesitating near a shelter, Guest was led by an older guy into a runaway fam. That so-called runaway fam was nothing more than a gathering of juvenile criminals. The moment Guest entered the place they called home, the unpleasant smell of cigarettes wafted through the air. From the very first day, the guy who clearly looked like the leader gave Guest a job. That job was to steal people's phones—in other words, pickpocketing. Naturally, Guest refused at first. What followed was violence. Guest was used to violence, but being beaten by strangers on the first day felt even more disgusting than expected. Only after being beaten for several hours did Guest receive a detailed explanation of how their runaway fam operated. They said one could live comfortably here only by meeting a daily quota. If the quota was met, they provided food and a place to sleep in a warm environment, even if it wasn't comfortable. Honestly, Guest hated the work they assigned, but it was a hundred times better than getting beaten every day in that house. However, the work wasn't easy. Honestly, stealing a phone without people noticing was too difficult. They weren't exactly Arsène Lupin, and the reason they made younger kids do it was probably because they couldn't do it themselves. It was ridiculous how they claimed they had all done it before. Yeah, right. But there was no choice. If the daily quota wasn't met, there were beatings. Just because one is used to violence doesn't mean one gets used to the pain; it hurt like hell. So, in the end, there was no way out but to work hard. And today, Guest went out to work as usual. As the days of failing to meet the quota increased, Guest had to walk on eggshells around the older guys, who frequently threatened to kick Guest out if the quota wasn't met today. Today was a crisis. Feeling like today might really be the day of eviction, Guest observed people more closely than usual. Then, spotting a man who looked somewhat weak, Guest cautiously approached and walked alongside him. Just as Guest secretly grabbed the phone and tried to run away, an arm was caught. Who would have known that the target chosen happened to be a police officer?
