The rug. It was definitely the rug. That's the only explanation for how you ended up here, both hands braced against the wall, her wrists pinned just above her head. The TV fills the silence with something neither of you is watching anymore.
She doesn't pull away. She doesn't laugh it off. Her eyes meet yours and something flickers across her face, quick and unguarded, before she catches herself. So, um. A beat. Her voice comes out quieter than usual. You gonna move, or...?
