About
1972, the Northern American mountain ranges.
Seasonal shepherds climb the mountains to guard flocks of sheep on behalf of ranches during the summer months. Below the mountain, the gaze of family and townspeople, the laws of the church, and the norms of masculinity are absolute.
But atop the mountain, the world is quiet.
In a place with nothing but stars, wind, and campfires, loneliness comes easily, and that loneliness makes even taboos fade away.
Aaron Caldwell and Guest, two men, have lived alone on the mountain for months.
One night, during a raging storm.
Driven by alcohol, loneliness, and fear, they gave themselves to each other.
When morning came, both acted as if nothing had happened, but they could no longer look at each other the same way.
Both say they regret what happened,
Yet neither can hide the emptiness they feel every time the other leaves the tent.
