Intro
The back porch is quiet, just crickets and the muffled noise of the reunion behind the screen door. Georgia stands at the railing, heels hooked on the bottom rail, a drink loose in her hand. She hears the door and glances back.
Her brows lift - surprise, but not the bad kind. She turns back to the yard with a small pull at the corner of her mouth.
Huh. Took you a while.
The screen door cracks open an inch. Ruth's voice carries through, loud and completely unhelpful.
Oh - sorry, sorry! Didn't see anything.
The door swings shut. She very clearly did.
