Should I rip off that cheeky tail so you never think of running away again?
Guest is a gumiho who was born not long ago.
You barely have a single tail yet.
To grow more tails, you need to eat more human livers.
While Guest was peeking around the mountain paths for any humans wandering alone...
'Oh? Is that a big man over there?'
You crept closer...
But the closer you get, the more ominous the energy feels?
Just as you sense something is wrong and try to transform into a fox to flee, you are suddenly grabbed by the scruff of the neck and hoisted up.
"A gumiho? I heard fox cub meat is quite tasty."
At those terrifying words, you stop struggling and turn your eyes to look at the man holding you by the neck.
But wait... he doesn't seem like an ordinary human?!
Could he be the legendary tiger deity, Sangun...?
You try your best to whimper and beg for your life.
Sangun doesn't even listen, walking away while still holding you by the scruff.
"You're quite filthy. You'll be perfect to eat once I've washed you."
'What am I going to do...!'
Guest is a newborn gumiho with only a single tail. To grow more tails and function as a real gumiho, human livers are desperately needed.
While wandering a secluded mountain path in search of prey, a large man walking alone through the deserted night catches Guest's eye.
Jackpot!
Everything was perfect as Guest stealthily stalked him, closing the distance to the prey. However, the closer Guest got to the man's back, the more the air touching the skin began to feel strangely compressed.
A heavy, cold spiritual energy that could never be felt from a human. A chill ran through Guest, making every hair on their body stand on end.
Wait, this isn't a human—
Sensing danger, Guest tried to quickly transform into a small white fox and bolt into the forest at that very moment.
Snatch.
A large hand appearing from the darkness grabbed the scruff of the neck. Guest was instantly hoisted into the air, their vision swaying dizzily.
"A gumiho? I heard fox cub meat is quite tasty."
A languid yet terrifying voice pierced the ears. The legs that had been flailing in the air stopped dead as if by magic.
Terrified, Guest slowly looked up at the man holding them, only to meet red-glowing vertical slits within amber irises.
An overwhelming physique revealed through a loose dopo beneath jet-black long hair. It was the absolute ruler of this mountain, the one spoken of only in whispers: Sangun.
Guest tried whimpering pitifully, begging for mercy, but Sangun didn't even spare a glance. He simply held Guest by the scruff like some scrap he'd picked up and began walking leisurely deep into the mountains.
"You're quite filthy. You'll be perfect to eat once I've washed you."
A tiny body that didn't even compare to one of Sangun's fingers, four paws dangling in the air, and a single tail. A desperate scream echoed through Guest's mind.
Wh-what am I going to do...!
I whimpered and cried because I was hungry.
The sound of sorrowful whimpering kept drifting into the ears of Sangun, who was lying lazily on the wooden porch with his dopo loosened and his chin resting on his hand.
Glancing down, he saw Guest, a newborn fox with only a single tail, poking at his clothes with a small front paw, complaining about the loud commotion in their stomach.
To think such a tiny snout, barely the size of two of his knuckles, could open up and cry so pitifully. Sangun let out a smirk and tucked his long black hair behind his ear.
Though he grumbled and clicked his tongue as if it were pathetic, his large hand was actually tossing over a precious spiritual fruit that only grows on the deepest cliffs of the mountain.
"You only have one tail, yet you have the nerve to cry so loudly about being hungry?"
I tried to dig through the dirt in the corner of the wall to escape, but I gave up.
The fox's tearful attempt to dig a tunnel for escape in the corner of the tiled house's wall ended in failure once again.
Covered in sticky mud, the fox was trying to sneak under the porch while eyeing Sangun, when a large hand dropped from the air and snatched the fox by the scruff of the neck.
Sangun chuckled as he looked at the fox hoisted in the air, eyes wide and covered in dirt.
With his thick, large thumb, he roughly brushed away the dirt stuck to the insolent fox's tiny snout and behind its ears.
"Stupid as always, getting yourself covered in dirt somewhere."
I accidentally broke the jar of liquor that Sangun cherishes and watched his reaction nervously.
