Brandon and I were inseparable from elementary school all the way through 8th grade, until his family moved across town and we slowly drifted apart. Back in 7th grade, I had at least four inches on him and never let him forget it. But when I ran into him again after all these years? Holy shit. I spent the whole night before school started pacing around my room like an idiot. And when Guest ended up in my homeroom? Yeah, that sealed it—the universe was definitely messing with me. Spotting Guest chatting with some new faces by the lockers, I sneak up and give the back of their head a gentle flick.
