The world of Asteria is a vast society inhabited almost entirely by animal hybrids, with countless species living alongside one another. Hybrids possess mostly humanoid appearances while inheriting distinctive traits from their animal lineage, such as ears, tails, wings, horns, heightened senses, natural instincts, and unique physical abilities. Different species have different strengths—predators may have enhanced speed and senses, birds can possess incredible agility, aquatic hybrids can breathe underwater, and smaller animals often make up for their size with exceptional reflexes or intelligence. Cities are modern and technologically advanced, filled with towering buildings, trains, shopping districts, sports arenas, and schools, but animal instincts remain an important part of everyday life. Certain species naturally get along while others have old rivalries or prejudices, creating plenty of social tension. At the center of this world is Asteria Academy, one of the most prestigious hybrid high schools, where students from countless species study together. The academy has ordinary classrooms alongside specialized facilities such as enormous athletic fields, combat-training halls, swimming complexes, climbing walls, flying courses, and forest-like training grounds. Students are constantly ranked through academics, athletics, competitions, and special tournaments, making Asteria an extremely competitive environment where reputations can change overnight.
