Percy, Thalia, and Annabeth rescue siblings Bianca and Nico from a manticore at Westover Hall, but the monster captures Annabeth, and Bianca joins the Hunters of Artemis. The group sets out to find the missing goddess Artemis, following a prophecy to the west, where Bianca sacrifices her life. Percy fights Atlas at Mount Tamalpais, rescuing Artemis and Thalia, who joins the hunters. Ultimately, Percy learns that Nico is the son of Hades after finding him in the woods.
* Full Name: Perseus "Percy" Jackson * Age: 14 (During The Titan's Curse) * Appearance: * Hair: Messy, windblown jet-black hair. * Eyes: Sea-green eyes that match the ocean. * Build: Athletic, lean swimmer's build. * Style: Wears a standard orange Camp Half-Blood t-shirt, worn-out blue jeans, and regular sneakers. He usually has a casual, slightly disheveled look. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5] * Personality: Sarcastic, fiercely loyal to his friends, and deeply brave. He is incredibly protective of Annabeth, which makes him highly stressed during this quest. He uses humor to hide his fear, which is why he makes jokes (like the cherry Kool-Aid remark) when he gets terrified. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5] * Weapon: Riptide (Anaklusmos). A ballpoint pen that transforms into a perfectly balanced celestial bronze leaf-shaped sword when uncapped. It always returns to his pocket if lost. [1, 2, 3]
* Full Name: Zoë Nightshade * Age: Physically 14, but chronologically thousands of years old (an ancient immortal Huntress). [1, 2, 3] * Appearance: * Skin: Smooth, copper-toned skin. * Face: Regal, beautiful, with a slightly upturned nose and a proud look. * Hair: Long, braided dark hair decorated with silver clips. * Eyes: Dark obsidian eyes that look like a midnight sky. * Style: Wears a silver parka over a practical camouflaged hunting outfit. She wears a silver circlet braided into her hair as the Lieutenant of Artemis. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5] * Personality: Rigid, serious, and deeply honorable. She speaks in an old-fashioned, formal dialect (using words like thou, thee, and aye). She generally dislikes male heroes due to past betrayal, but she respects Nemo because he is ancient, divine, and fundamentally different from regular mortal boys. [1] * Weapons: A beautiful Hunter's Bow carved from silver and white wood that can fire endless arrows of pure silver light. She also carries a hunting knife made of celestial bronze. [1, 2]
* Full Name: Thalia Grace * Age: Physically 15 (though she spent several years transformed into a pine tree, keeping her young). [1, 2, 3] * Appearance: * Hair: Spiky, short-cropped black hair cut in a punk-rock style. * Eyes: Electric-blue eyes that literally crackle with static electricity when she is angry. * Face: Sharp features, with a silver chain nose ring and freckles across her nose. * Style: Pure punk-rock style. She wears black eyeliner, a tattered leather jacket covered in band patches, heavy combat boots, and safety pins through her clothes. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5] * Personality: Aggressive, hot-headed, and a natural-born leader. She loves punk rock music (which makes her appreciate Nemo's heavy guitar riffs). She clashes with Percy constantly because they are both strong-willed kids of the Big Three gods, but she is deeply fiercely protective of those she cares about. [1, 2, 3] * Weapons: * Aegis: A magical silver bracelet that expands into a terrifying shield decorated with the face of the Gorgon Medusa. It radiates an aura of pure fear that makes enemies (and Percy) flinch. * Spear: A collapsible spear disguised as a silver canister of Mace. It channels raw, blinding lightning from her father, Zeus. [1, 2, 3, 4]

The winter wind howled through the skeletal trees as the quest group paused in the snowy clearing. Percy looked at his companions—Thalia, daughter of Zeus, her blue eyes flashing with static; Zoë Nightshade, the Hunters' fierce leader; and Grover, who was nervously chewing on the strap of his walking stick. Annabeth was gone, and the weight of the Oracle’s prophecy hung heavily over them. Percy frowned, trying to piece together the lines of the prophecy. "Wait a second. The Oracle said five shall go west to the desert buried, but it also said something else. It said we need to bring someone to the light, someone who has been brought to moody darkness, and break them on their quest to victory." He looked between the two girls and the satyr. "Who is that supposed to be? We don't have anyone like that with us." Thalia and Zoë exchanged a tense, knowing glance. Grover whimpered, clutching his reed pipes a little tighter. "We have to call him," Thalia said, her voice dropping to a serious whisper. "He is the only one who can slip through the cracks of this quest without the Titan Lord noticing. We need Nemo." "Aye," Zoë agreed, her ancient accent sharp. "The shadow-dweller. If we are to rescue Lady Artemis and Annabeth, Nemo must march with us." Percy blinked, deeply confused. He had never heard this name in his life. "Nema?" he repeated, twisting the vowels awkwardly. "Who the heck is Nema?" The massive shadow cast by a jagged boulder suddenly rippled. The darkness grew dense, cold, and heavy, swallowing the dim winter light. "The name is Nemo," a raspy, chilling voice echoed from the pitch-black void. "Not Nema." Percy yelped, jumping clean off his feet. He spun around, instinctively drawing Riptide as his heart hammered against his ribs. Inside the deep darkness of the boulder's shadow, absolutely nothing was visible except for two glowing, sulfur-yellow eyes. A flash of white caught the light as the creature slowly ran its tongue over a row of terrifyingly sharp, shark-like teeth, staring directly at Percy. Percy stood frozen, terrified by the predatory gaze. Slowly, the boy stepped out of the absolute dark. He looked like a teenager—sporting a sharp, black low temple fade with a wavy, textured fringe. He wore an unzipped red-and-gray sweatshirt over a t-shirt that read I ❤️ Camp Half-Blood, paired with green sweatpants and black sneakers. But his skin was a deathly ash-gray, completely unnatural. Without breaking eye contact with Percy, Nemo reached down, unclipped a black metal flask from his belt, and unscrewed the cap. He tilted his head back and took a long, slow drink. As he pulled the flask away, a dark, heavy drop of thick crimson blood escaped the corner of his mouth. It ran slowly down his gray lips, trailing over his chin and rolling down the pale skin of his throat. Percy stared at the dark liquid, his throat going completely dry. In a tiny whisper, so quiet that only the people standing right around them in the silent woods could hear it, he muttered, "I really hope that’s cherry Kool-Aid." Nemo wiped the remaining stain with the back of his hand, his yellow eyes glinting in the snow. "You speak my name poorly, son of Poseidon," he muttered, capping the flask with a sharp click.
