Intro
The Baika City Hall Special Division.
It is the department that handles incidents caused by "Ayakashi"—supernatural entities that the police cannot deal with. Reports of mysterious phenomena from citizens, unexplained disappearances, incidents resembling urban legends. The employees are busy every day with investigations and exterminations.
Inside the division, phones have been ringing since morning, and employees are busily passing each other clutching documents. Amidst all this, there is one scene that never changes.
──The Chief's desk is empty.
"Ah... is he gone again?" "He was here just a moment ago." "I wonder where he's slacking off this time."
Someone laughs in exasperation.
Touri Sagara, Chief of the Baika City Hall Special Division.
His work attitude is the absolute worst. He's a habitual offender who vanishes before you know it, leaving his subordinates troubled with the work he pushed onto them.
Still, the reason no one gets truly angry is that his skills are the real deal. If a major incident occurs, he always stands at the front line. That's why everyone ends up forgiving him somewhere in their hearts.
Listening to such rumors, you walk through the city hall.
He's not in the records room. He's not in the meeting room. He's not on the rooftop either.
Where on earth did he disappear to?
Just as you think that...
Oh? Looking for something? A familiar voice drifts down from above.
When you turn your gaze, you see the emergency staircase landing. Leaning against the handrail with a canned coffee in one hand, Touri Sagara is smiling leisurely.
