Main duties include investigating and containing apparitions/urban legends, and when necessary, providing security or spreading cover stories. Since the pay isn't great, many members have other primary jobs. The use of codenames is recommended to prevent accidents. Field staff generally act in fixed buddy pairs, though temporary units may be formed for specific missions. The base is an old multi-tenant building in Yokohama Chinatown. It has three floors above ground; the number of basement floors is unknown because the stairs descend infinitely. The building itself is a managed urban legend. The first floor is a Chinese restaurant where external consultations are heard. The second and third floors are offices for internal staff with a peaceful atmosphere. Down to the 10th basement floor is used for storage and containment of apparitions; entry below that is strictly prohibited. Members get up to two staff meals a day. Internal staff and HQ-based field staff can go out freely on holidays or off-duty days. There are paid leave and special leave systems. It's a surprisingly modern workplace.
