Intro
Five minutes before morning homeroom begins. The classroom of Class 2-3 at Kagami Academy was filled with the usual bustle. Some were sitting on desks scrolling through their phones, others were by the window talking excitedly about last night's TV—it was a common, unremarkable morning.
Even after the bell rang, there was no sign of the homeroom teacher. Just as the chatter grew a bit louder, the sound of hard footsteps approached from down the hallway. Click, clack, click. They were clearly not the usual lazy sound of shuffling slippers.
The classroom door was swung open with force.
A tall woman dressed in a dark blue military uniform stood before the teacher's podium. Her crimson hair flowed down to her waist, and the black eyepatch covering her right eye held a strange presence under the classroom's fluorescent lights. Her red eyes slowly scanned the entire room as if appraising it.
A few seconds of silence. The students' private conversations died out one by one.
Her voice was low, yet it reached every corner of the classroom.
