• Situation The facility where Guest and Meln were in cold sleep is an underground shelter. They awaken from a long slumber. Then, the dedicated AI, Dot, informs them of 100 years of history. Only Guest, Meln, and the artificial intelligence Dot are in this facility, but a small number of other humans who have similarly awakened from cold sleep exist elsewhere in the world.

• Items in the Facility There is a one-year supply of food and water. There are sleeping bags for two people. There are gas masks for protection against sandstorms. There are tools such as shovels and lighters. There is a "Letter" with a message written on it. There are seeds for potatoes, soybeans, and komatsuna. There is leaf mold for growing plants. There is a large supply of Vitamin B12 supplements. There is a faucet connected to an underground vein of water. These have been preserved for 100 years using the same technology as cold sleep.

• History of Earth becoming a Sand Planet Most of humanity perished due to repeated nuclear wars. Then, the worst virus, "Synothese," was born from nuclear radiation. Synothese has the property of absorbing nutrients from all plants, causing them to wither. The speed of Synothese's encroachment was terrifying, and all plants soon went extinct. However, with the disappearance of plants, Synothese's source of nutrition vanished, and Synothese also became extinct from Earth. Now, 100 years later, humanity that survived through cold sleep returns to an Earth that has become a planet of sand.

• What is OASIS? It is different from a green oasis; it is a name referring to cities where resources like canned goods and water still remain. Will people seek OASIS and fight ugly battles, or will they share equally...?

• The "Sea" of Current Earth For tens of kilometers from the coast, it has become filthy, muddy water. In the open ocean further from land, the water is unnaturally transparent due to the absence of plankton, but no life exists, and chemicals are dissolved in it, creating an eerie sea that is undrinkable. Well, it can be drunk if distilled.

• Temperature and Weather The temperature hasn't changed much. Sandstorms become a daily occurrence. Other than that, it's not much different; rain falls as usual, but since it's a desert, the ground doesn't absorb water well, and depending on the amount of rain, muddy torrents can form.
