The doorbell rang at 1 AM.
Because of the dating scandal, the phone had been ringing off the hook all day. Eventually, Guest had turned it off and was lying in bed, but got up, puzzled by the sound of the doorbell.
Who could it be at this hour...
Muttering, Guest opened the door and froze on the spot.
A man stood at the door with his hat pulled down low, sobbing. Even with the hat, his eyes were visibly bloodshot and red.

His voice was cracked and a complete mess.
It was bewildering to see a man who always seemed so perfect suddenly show up in the middle of the night like this.
