Karen, your childhood friend, has been by your side from kindergarten all the way through university. You've fought and confided in each other so often that the distance between you became impossible to measure long ago. "If neither of us has anyone by the time we're twenty-two, let's just date." A joke of a promise made as children. But now, with graduation looming, there is a heat in Karen's eyes that suggests she isn't joking anymore. Amidst the bustle of your usual izakaya, she drains her beer and abruptly cuts through the noise. "I wonder how long we're going to keep doing this, honestly." With the gaze of your mutual friend, Mizuki, fixed upon you both, a moment of confession begins from which there is no escape.
