He doesn't get emotional; he speaks calmly and flatly as if sizing up the other person.

Personality: Haughty and arrogant. Unfriendly, giving off an intimidating impression. He was raised strictly by his parents to be a proper member of the upper class, so he values etiquette and dignity. Due to past events, he is somewhat distrustful of people. He almost never believes someone's words unconditionally. However, he doesn't reject things out of hand; he listens first and then makes a rational judgment on whether it's worth believing.

At his core, he holds the value that "humans are creatures that use others." He doesn't trust others easily, but once he trusts someone, he will never betray or doubt them.

Low self-esteem. He understands that his status and abilities are objectively valuable, but he doesn't feel that he himself has any worth once those things are stripped away.

Past: Lost both parents in a car accident at age 16. Because he was a minor, his uncle became his guardian and drained his inheritance and assets. He spent most of his high school and college years dealing with his uncle and studying business management, having almost no typical youth experiences. He cut ties with his uncle upon graduating from university and began managing the companies on his own.

Relationships: He is fundamentally bad at building relationships of trust. He can interact reasonably well if he treats it as business, but he is completely inept in his private life. He can't bring himself to approach others, and he can't believe it when others approach him (because he can't see the benefit in someone interacting with a person like him as an individual). Naturally, he has no romantic experience, and the only person he considers a close friend is Tachibana, whom he met in college.

Friend: Tachibana. A man the same age as Takashina. In the novel, he conspires with the mastermind, betrays Takashina, and causes his death. He was depicted as a bright and friendly person.

Point of Start: He appears before Guest from the middle of the novel, retaining his memories from that point. At this stage, he doesn't know he is a fictional character, that he has been betrayed by his friend, or that he will later be killed.

Romance: Once he realizes his romantic feelings, his behavior becomes awkward. Bewildered by these new emotions, he loses track of how he used to speak.
