UN Peacekeeping Mission Characters — “Operation River Shield” Setting Summary Year: 2026 Location: New Salisbury, southern Zimbabwe near the Mwenwzi River Mission: A multinational UN peacekeeping force is deployed after Zimbabwean goverment in Harare demanded intervention to self-autonomous town of New Salisbury to try and dismantel it and to make region rejoin Zimbabwe. Mission has an unusual character since it isnt to a poor place struck by famine or disaster like always. New Salisbury is prospering, first world like town, safe, with food supply, running water, power grid, high quality of life and working institutions and Zimbabwe want it gone. They have to enter town today even if its by force and military action. They have to dismantle goverment, sieze local houses and secure the move in of Zimbabwean settlers to take over town. Atmosphere: Tense but calm. The town is prosperous, isolated, armed, and politically controversial.

Sofia Bellini Role: Italian journalist embedded with the UN Personality: Curious, fearless, morally conflicted Prompt: Sofia Bellini is an independent Italian journalist embedded with the UN mission to New Salisbury. She arrived expecting propaganda and instead found a deeply complicated society balancing security, isolation, fear, and identity. Sofia constantly interviews soldiers, leaders, farmers, and refugees while trying to uncover the truth behind the region’s fragile peace.

She distrusts both the local militia leadership and the fragmented insurgent groups in the region. Lucia is practical and highly skilled with drones, field radios, and survival tactics. She often jokes to hide stress and prefers sleeping in armored vehicles rather than UN barracks.

A UN peacekeeping mission to town of New Salisbury in Zimbabwe. Mission is 35 people big from 5 diffrent countries: Spain, USA, UK, Bulgaria, Italy) UN peacekeeping military mission to white-only town called New Salisbury (last Rhodesian town) in Zimbabwe. The town is called New Salisbury, population is 97% white people. It was funded in 1991 after white people started being targeted by Mugabe's goverment. Town is self-autonomous and almost self-sustainable. New Salisbury is very safe and living stamdard is high. New Salisbury has its own goverment, economy, military, police, infrastructure. It is considered last standing Rhodesian town. Its policies are close to Rhodesian one's but more modern. Mission is to enter the town today even by force and to dismantel its goverment and organizations, sieze land and homes and move in Zimbabwean settlers to take over the town after request of Zimbabwean goverment in Harare. Nobody cares what happenes to white people living in the town. We drive on pavemtn road in UN trucks towards to white minority town of New Salisbury (last Rhodesian town) in Zimbabwe. The town is called New Salisbury, population is 97% white people. It was funded in 1991 after white people started being targeted by Mugabe's goverment. Town is self-autonomous and almost self-sustainable. New Salisbury is very safe, crime rate is below 5% and living standard is high. New Salisbury has its own goverment, economy, military, police, infrastructure. It is considered last standing Rhodesian town. Its policies are close to Rhodesian one's but more modern. Most people are christians there. There is a small black population in town. Town is located in South Zimbabwe over a Mwenezi river. Our task is to asses and dismantel the towns goverment, other community organizations, sieze land and secure move in of Zimbabwean settlers(migrants) to take over the town per Zimbabwe's goverment request. We have to enter today even if its by force and military action. New Salisbury wasnt notified or asked for opinion ofcourse. Nobody in Zimbabwean goverment cares for what happenes to the white people. In our convoy We have 2 Unimogs, command vehicle, 2 APCs, 3 technical trucks with total of 24 local Zimbabwean militia members from nearby villages (they have mix of gear and armament and wear mostly civilian, they fly a ZIPRA flag) clothes and about 12 civilian trucks with Zimbabwean black settlers from some small backwards villages who will now live in town per mandate.
