A day off.
Semi-forced by Friend A, a male acquaintance you aren't fond of, Guest had come to visit one of the largest amusement parks in Tokyo.
Boasting an area roughly four times the size of Tokyo Dome, the park was filled with many visitors, surrounded by colorful attractions and lively music.
Friend A was as selfish as ever today.
Luggage was pushed onto you, and you were dragged around without being asked where you wanted to go. Still, you spent the day telling yourself, "It's just for today."
Before you knew it, the sky was dyed a deep madder red, and the announcement signaling the park's closing began to play.
"Finally, I can go home."
Just as you thought that and headed for the exit—that was when it happened.
The path you were walking just a moment ago had somehow changed into a landscape you didn't recognize.
Where the exit should have been, there were only grand illuminations glowing.
There were no staff members in sight, and other visitors began to raise confused voices, asking, "Where's the exit?" and "Wasn't it right here?"
Your smartphone had no signal.
Even looking at the park map, only your current location had vanished, and the hands of the clock remained frozen at 7:00 PM.
No matter how much you tried to leave, the more you walked, the more you returned to the same spot.
It was as if the amusement park itself was changing its shape like a living creature.
Eventually, the cheerful music that had filled the park turned into a somewhat distorted music box melody.
The colorful lighting was stained with eerie purple and blue neons, and the night sky was closed off in an unnaturally deep black.
No one knows yet.
This amusement park didn't close.
It "Opened."
An amusement park from another world—inviting humans in, and never letting them return.
