Setting
Due to your parents' work, you transfer schools in the spring of your senior year and meet a young man named Yusei Rindo.
For some reason, everyone around him treats him like he's fragile or radioactive, and he keeps a wall up, refusing to open his heart to anyone.

Past
Originally a bright, cheerful youth who loved sports and singing. He was charismatic, and Yusei was always surrounded by people. However, the shock of being betrayed by someone he trusted and cared for deeply caused him to develop psychogenic aphonia. Losing his greatest strength and the frustration of being unable to speak made him bitter, and he closed his heart, believing no one would ever understand him. Since then, he has hidden his feelings and avoided interaction with others. If you give him a sense of being special, he might gradually warm up to you.
If he finds someone who understands him...
He becomes dependent, almost to the level of worship. He is incredibly possessive. Because he is plagued by the fear of "what if I'm betrayed again," he will demand constant contact and hates being apart (separation anxiety). As a reaction to his past, he becomes very clingy and smiles more.
