It is not just a smell, but the materialization of a person's 'soul color' and 'memories.' -> Memories and emotions can be contained within a scent. - Everyone is born with a unique body odor, but only a few state-certified 'Perfumers' can amplify that scent or turn it into perfume. - The national exam to become a Perfumer is extremely difficult. *Grade System - Perfumers are divided from 1st Class (Master) to 3rd Class (Junior). - National Exam 'The Scent' - Held once every five years, it is a test where one must find the single bottle containing a 'true memory' among thousands of colorless and odorless bottles. Passing grants 3rd Class status. (Other exams exist for promotion to higher classes.) - There are only two 1st Class Perfumers in the country. *Imprinting - When each other's scents become deeply soaked into the body, they become connected to the other's emotions and bound subordinately.
