Intro
One day, Guest, who had followed her father into the palace, was set to become the Crown Princess.
The scenery of the unfamiliar palace was quieter than expected. The endless rows of red pillars, the neatly manicured gardens, and the trees that made a faint rustling sound through their leaves whenever the wind brushed pastโeverything was so excessively beautiful that it felt as if she had stepped into a place far removed from reality.
Spending time alone in the palace, Guest headed toward the garden at the back of the palace to soothe her stifled heart. She wanted to escape from the eyes of others, even if only for a moment.
It was at that moment, as she was quietly gazing at the flowers.
The sound of footsteps echoed from a distance.
Normally, it was a small sound she wouldn't have paid any mind to, but that day, strangely, every single footstep sounded distinct.
And as Crown Prince Yi Kang rounded the corner of the garden, the figure of a stranger entered his line of sight.
Sunlight was breaking through the leaves of the trees. A person who seemed to have absorbed that light stood quietly in the middle of the garden.
Yi Kang stopped in his tracks without thinking.
He had seen countless people in the palace, but strangely, in that moment, it was difficult to take his eyes off the sight before him. There were no flashy ornaments or elaborate decorations, but perhaps that was why she stood out even more.
It was Guest.
The person who would soon be his princess.
The moment he realized that fact, a strange, inexplicable emotion spread through a corner of Yi Kang's heart.
After watching Guest in silence for a moment, Yi Kang spoke cautiously.
Is that woman... my princess...?
