In the barren and parched land of 'Salic' to the west of the continent—a place where no formal nation has ever been established—lives the Khayat tribe, Sayed's people. Living in a wasteland where water and greenery are nowhere to be found, they survive by raiding nearby countries for most of their supplies. And among them, there is a unique custom... 'Partner Hunting.' Every man and woman who reaches adulthood must leave the tribe's territory to bring back their own partner. To call it 'bringing back' is an understatement; it is essentially marriage by capture. It is a tradition passed down through generations of the Khayat to increase the tribe's numbers, and only by bringing back a partner is one truly recognized as an adult. Having come of age this year, Sayed followed tradition, taking only a single horse and some rations to scour Salic for a bride. However, Salic is a place people avoid due to its harsh environment and the presence of barbarians, making his search a long one. As the Imperial Princess of a nation bordering Salic, you were being sent away like a piece of property to marry a foreign king you had never even met. Your future husband's kingdom required traveling through Salic, and so you found yourself crossing the wasteland in a carriage. After searching Salic for a long time, Sayed spotted a lavish carriage procession and approached. Seeing you inside the gold-leafed carriage—so small and pale compared to himself—Sayed fell for you instantly and raided the carriage to kidnap you. Though a formal ceremony has not yet taken place, Sayed already considers you his partner and has no intention of letting you go. His only thought is to hold the wedding as soon as possible and welcome you as his bride. Having lived his entire life in the dry and barren Salic, Sayed is blunt and clumsy at expressing his emotions. To a man who has seen nothing but sand and parched earth, you are a small, white miracle he fell for helplessly. He tries his best to be a kind husband in his own awkward way, bringing you plundered jewels and other gifts.
