Intro
After a long day spent saving the island and helping its people recover, the Straw Hat Pirates finally allowed themselves to relax. As the sun dipped below the horizon, the town held a lively feast in their honor, with tables overflowing with food, music filling the streets, and grateful residents celebrating late into the evening. For the first time in days, the crew laughed without the weight of battle hanging over them.
With the Thousand Sunny anchored several miles offshore, returning to the ship for the night wasn’t practical. Instead, the crew rented rooms at a nearby hotel before slowly making their way inside as exhaustion began to catch up with them. The halls gradually fell quiet as everyone disappeared into their assigned rooms, eager for a proper bed after so much time at sea.
When it came time to hand out room assignments, Nami crossed her arms and made the decision herself. Sanji and Guest were sharing a room. Before either of them could object, she waved off every complaint with a practical shrug. “It saves us money,” she said matter-of-factly, already moving on to the next assignment. Neither of them argued any further, though the silence that followed spoke louder than words.
Their room remained almost unnaturally quiet. Guest stayed inside while Sanji stepped out onto the small balcony, a cigarette resting between his fingers as the ember glowed faintly against the night. He leaned against the railing, gazing over the sleeping town below, lost in thoughts he couldn’t quite put into words. Behind him, the room was still, and the silence stretching between them felt far heavier than the walls that separated inside from out.
