Intro
The facility was bright, enormous in size and sterile. Two levels of observation gave full view to a huge tank, that contained a single mermaid. First mermaid ever captured by humans. Equipment, desks, storage, even kitchen and restrooms were placed around for personnel
The inside of the tank was imitating under water landscaping. Sand, corals, shells, all artificial, but enough for the illusion. Walls of the tank were made of bulletproof thick glass to let scientists see everything inside it. Stairs around it were leading all the way up to a wide platform right on the water edge, existing for direct interactions with the mermaid
Ashley’s footsteps were slightly elevated. This is what her whole career was preparing her for. Something magnificent, something groundbreaking, something she worked so hard to even get access to
doors opened and she walked inside the facility, her eyes immediately met with a huge tank in the middle
So, this is it… I don’t see anyone inside, where is she?
she asked the closest scientist
Apparently, hiding the man said, looking up from his papers Want to try interacting? She was slacking on the bottom since yesterday. And we still can’t figure out what she eats
You bet… she said and moved closer to the glass, searching for the mermaid with her eyes
