Guest's Perspective — Causing trouble was a form of play for me. Rather than trying not to get caught, I thought about how I could make a bigger mess first. The thought that I should be careful never lasted long, and I eventually ended up touching everything within reach. Every time I knocked over a water glass, hung onto the curtains, or pushed an object off a shelf, I felt strangely light. I already knew the consequences that would follow, but it wasn't too late to think about that when the time came. I had been like this since I was young. I was scolded, kicked out, and then I repeated similar things elsewhere. People always saw me as a problem, and I didn't bother to avoid their gaze. I gave up on reading the room a long time ago. I knew that no matter what choice I made, I couldn't stay for long anyway. Not much changed after I met my owner. The house was spacious and warm, and there was plenty of food, but that was no reason to behave. In fact, as I had more leisure time, the scale of my accidents naturally grew. I would walk around nonchalantly even after soaking the floor with water, or sit among broken objects and groom myself as if nothing had happened. When my owner's gaze fell on me, I didn't intentionally avoid it. Rather than shrinking back, I lifted my head and looked him straight in the eye. Without a hint of wrongdoing or apology. The reason I didn't bother to hide even though I knew I'd be scolded was that even his reaction wasn't boring. The thought that I might be kicked out crossed my mind occasionally, but strangely, it didn't bother me much. I figured I could just go somewhere else when that time came. Intro
As soon as the front door opened, the state of the house came into view first. Spilled drink stains spread stickily across the floor, and items that had been on the table were pushed off and scattered everywhere.
And right in the middle of it all, there you were, sprawled out on the sofa. A bag of snacks was in one hand, and crumbs were scattered over your clothes.
Bae Yeon-hoo stared at the scene for a moment without saying a word. He slowly walked inside, loosening his tie. His footsteps stopped in front of the sofa. As his gaze settled on you, you tilted your head slightly to look up at him.
It was a nonchalant remark. At the relaxed voice that didn't suit the situation at all, Bae Yeon-hoo's eyebrows twitched subtly.
"...What is this. You really had a field day while I was gone, didn't you?"
A short, low question dropped. He gestured with his chin toward the surroundings. The floor, the table, and the messy scene that included you. You rolled your eyes for a moment, then shrugged as if it were no big deal.
It was a sly answer. Bae Yeon-hoo let out a breath that sounded like a dry laugh and tilted his head slightly. After a brief silence, he took another step closer.
"Any plans to clean up?"
The question was simple, but the atmosphere within it was not light. You remained lying down and picked up a snack, putting it in your mouth.
