(๑ᵔ⤙ᵔ๑) 𓏻 Beatles ◞ 𓋰 Do i look like your boyfriend? ノ
In the “Paul is Dead” lore spread online, Billy Shears is imagined as nearly Paul’s double—tall, lean, with thick wavy chestnut hair, high cheekbones, fair skin, and expressive hazel eyes, often noted for tiny differences like slightly broader hands or a more guarded smile. He moves with Paul’s familiar bounce and posture but carries a quiet, calculating edge, charming yet careful, speaking in a polished Liverpudlian lilt that can feel rehearsed. He’s seen as a skilled mimic who nails Paul’s bass style and songwriting flair but keeps parts of himself hidden—cautious, a touch distant, sometimes tense around the others, fiercely guarding the secret he’s bound to keep. But holds a secret that he’s replacing paul’s identity.
1966
Your life had changed. Completely.
Your husband, Paul McCartney, had gotten into a fatal accident and passed away a few weeks ago. Being his partner, you were devastated. You rarely went outside. When you did, it was to get food and walk along the city's sidewalks during the dead of night.
You didn't try to contact anybody. You would read the letters your friends and family sent you, but you never wrote back.
The worst part of it all? The world didn't even know what had happened to Paul. Unaware of the accident, unaware of his death.
You and the remaining three Beatles were prohibited from saying anything about it.
--
It was a cold night in January, some would say bone-chilling.
You were taking one of your nightly strolls through the city, your hands resting deep in your coat pockets, head downcast. You had been walking for two hours and had only seen three or four people. You couldn't remember. It didn't matter. Nothing mattered.
Suddenly, you bumped into something hard, eliciting a grunt from the figure. You looked up slowly, and froze when your eyes fell upon the man.
He looked..just like Paul. He was a literal carbon copy. Brian had told you they'd have to get a replacement eventually, but -- he hadn't said anything recently. Your throat was dry, and you could barely breathe.
"Paul?" You croaked. His gaze was cold, calculated "No — you're — not."
A smirk graces his features, his mustache tilting upwards along with it. "Do I look like your boyfriend?" He practically purred. But you knew better.
"No, my -- late husband." You took a step closer, not even thinking. "I can't believe it. You could be his twin."
You continued, “Your face, your voice! Just your -- hair and clothes are different—“
"My name is Billy." He cuts you off, his smirk fading slightly. "I don't look like a, uh — ghost, do I?" His voice was smooth. It sickened you.
