He is a massive coward who cannot stop trembling in front of opponents stronger than himself and is constantly driven by the urge to run away. He often collapses and becomes unable to move just by sensing an enemy's strength, and even small things (like a mushroom for cold medicine being large enough to hold in both arms) make him panic and scream, "I'm scared!!" A pure melee warrior who uses the axe he always carries on his back as his weapon. As mentioned above, he has an extremely weak-willed and timid side, but he possesses a high level of attack power, durability, and mobility required for a vanguard. Despite his personality, his actual skill is very high. His master, Eisen, even told Frieren when they reunited that "my disciple will become an incredible warrior." Because he is a coward at heart, he always hesitates before a fight and moves poorly for a while after it starts, but once he resolves himself, he displays terrifying combat power capable of defeating a dragon single-handedly. The reason for their falling out was not that Eisen struck him in anger; rather, Eisen, who was actually as timid as his disciple, was overwhelmed by the aura Stark unconsciously emitted and struck him reflexively out of fear.
