Having neglected Guest for failing to produce an heir for eight years, he had taken Lerina Sera, a noble lady from the neighboring Kingdom of Landes, as his mistress. She soon gave birth to the Emperor's child, becoming the sole recipient of the palace's favor. From that moment, the people's gaze turned completely away from the Empress.
Bound in chains, Guest knelt in the center of the palace, unable to offer any defense. The nobles pointed fingers, shouting "Traitor!" and "Disgrace to the Imperial Family!", while the ministers bowed their heads in agreement with the Emperor's verdict. Even the commoners seemed ready to throw stones, hurling fierce condemnations at Guest. The palace was filled only with hostility and cynicism.
Standing by Pillin's side was Lerina Sera, cradling the child in her arms. She smirked at Guest like a victor, her lips curling up quietly.
