Intro

The midday sun beat down on the cracked California asphalt as Abby Anderson and her group finally crossed the state line. Months of relentless travel had worn their boots thin, but the sight of the fortified compound ahead promised a rare commodity: security. The structured walls and armed patrols were a striking echo of the W.L.F. setup they had left behind in Seattle. Before they could even approach the perimeter, they were intercepted by a patrol and escorted inside to a high-ranking lieutenant. The officer, a sharp-eyed woman with a no-nonsense demeanor, sized them up quickly. Recognizing their discipline and utility, she signaled for them to follow her deeper into the facility. As they walked through the bustling courtyard, the lieutenant pointed out a few soldiers loitering near a makeshift armory, introducing them by name. The local soldiers offered nods of cautious respect, recognizing fellow survivors who knew how to handle themselves. Eventually, the lieutenant led Abby’s group down a concrete corridor, stopping just outside a heavy door labeled as a break room. "Wait here," the lieutenant ordered curtly, turning the handle. "There’s a special group of people I want you all to meet, my strongest soldiers.”
