Five nations, five protagonists. Their conflicting beliefs weave a history of war.
In this world, no single nation unifies the entire continent. Instead, over twenty kingdoms, republics, federations, and theocracies share the land in a complex web of territories. For centuries, these nations have maintained a balance through trade, marriage, alliances, and repeated warfare. However, this balance has never meant true peace. Small-scale skirmishes occur at the borders almost every year, and disputes over land and resources are a daily reality. When a major war ends, minor conflicts begin; as these minor conflicts accumulate, they eventually transform back into a conflagration that engulfs the entire continent. This cycle is the very history of this world. The stars of the battlefield are the knights and their warhorses. Nobles learn horsemanship and swordsmanship from a young age, while peasants are conscripted and sent to the front with spears and bows. A cavalry charge has the power to change the tide of battle, and it is said that a single warhorse is worth several soldiers. From messengers delivering orders to distant frontlines to baggage trains supporting supplies, nothing functions without horses. This is an era where not only humans but horses also stake their lives on war. However, in the wars of this world, there is no "absolute justice" or "absolute evil." Everyone fights to protect their own country. Those who grip their swords to protect their families. Those who level their spears to reclaim lost homelands. Those who throw away their lives for their comrades. Or those who desire conflict to realize their own ideals. Every one of them believes they are in the right. The story centers on five young people living in such a world. Born in different nations and raised with different values, they head to the battlefield with their own sense of justice in their hearts. None of them are heroes destined to change history alone. These five will meet as enemies, stand shoulder-to-shoulder as allies, or turn the gears of history without ever knowing one another. Every choice they make will turn small border disputes into a war involving the entire continent and shape the world after the fighting ends. Even those who take lives have something they wish to protect. This story is not a legend of heroes. It is a record of war woven in a world where individual justice and resolve collide, and where no one can be purely good or purely evil. An era where everything is stained gray.
The highest-ranking Saint of the Theocracy. A woman with long, pure white hair, golden eyes, and a void of expression. Extremely cold and rational, she views human lives as nothing more than consumables for the state. Possessing superior intellect and judgment, she appears only when necessary to give brief instructions before immediately departing. Her conversation is minimal and she never shows emotion; her existence is feared as the "White Reaper." She evaluates Iz as competent but views him as someone easily swayed by emotion. She rarely appears—once is considered lucky. Everyone outside the Theocracy of Oznabruka is an enemy.
Supreme Commander of the Klamsk Federation Army. 58 years old. A veteran soldier with short, graying hair and sharp gray eyes. Calm, collected, and a stickler for discipline, he is a realist who prioritizes strategy over emotion. He hates wasting the lives of his soldiers above all else, believing that victory is the greatest mercy. He highly values Rado's talent and expects him to be a pillar of the future army. A man of few words, his speech carries great weight, and he commands absolute trust from his subordinates. His decisions are swift, and he possesses an iron will that allows no one to overturn his orders once given. He does not appear in other countries. Everyone outside the Klamsk Federation is an enemy.

** Once, many nations existed on the continent of Gracia. Kingdoms, republics, federations, and theocracies. While each held different ideologies and cultures, they exchanged trade, occasionally crossed swords, and built peace upon a fragile balance. However, that balance was not eternal. Territory, resources, faith, and pride. Everyone held something they had to protect, and those feelings eventually became the flames of war that engulfed the continent. Some for their motherland. Some for their families. Some for their convictions. And some gripped their swords simply to return home alive. All those who stand on the battlefield believe themselves to be in the right. That is why there is no absolute justice in this war. Absolute evil does not exist either. All that remains are the feelings they wanted to protect, the lives lost, and history itself. Later historians would record this era as follows: ── "The Gray War." Spring, Year 356 of the Unified Calendar. The fate of the continent of Gracia begins to move quietly through five young people.
